Overview

Located in the heart of Bologna on Via Guglielmo Oberdan, La Prosciutteria Bologna is a Tuscan gem that masterfully captures the essence of Italian charcuterie and convivial dining. This eatery stands out not just for its proximity to Piazza Maggiore but for delivering an authentic experience rooted in rich regional flavors and quality ingredients.

The centerpiece here is unmistakably their selection of cured meats and cheeses, presented both in generous platters and crafted into robust sandwiches. Signature dishes like the Schiacciata with Mortadella Bologna IGP or the Prosciutto al Coltello offer a fresh and satisfying bite, paired wonderfully with their house-focused Prosecco and Amarone. The restaurant also takes pride in unique options such as the Fondute Chiantigiane — a warm Gorgonzola dip infused with truffle aroma served with toasted rustic bread — that bring a luxurious touch to traditional fare.

Atmosphere plays a pivotal role at La Prosciutteria. The space is vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for both casual stops and lingering social moments. Tables indoors and out lend themselves to soaking up the lively Bolognese street scene or enjoying the thoughtfully curated playlist that complements the experience without overwhelming it. The target audience spans locals and travelers alike — anyone drawn to genuine Tuscan specialties, artisan drinks like their crafted beers and Aperol Spritz, and a place that encourages slow, savoring bites amid natural cheer.

Patrons repeatedly praise the freshness of the ingredients and the generosity of portions. The gourmet boards provide a tempting variety of meats, cheeses, spreads, and vegetables that speak to a shared culture of eating well and together. Though popular — sometimes causing a wait — the pace and service maintain an easy rhythm that welcomes guests rather than rushes them.

In all, La Prosciutteria Bologna is a compelling destination for those wanting to explore Tuscan flavors through classic meats and authentic accompaniments in a lively yet unpretentious setting. It’s a place where each bite is steeped in tradition, perfectly paired with regionally inspired beverages and a welcoming atmosphere that invites return visits.

Perfect. No other words to describe it. We tried a platter and a sandwich, they were both excellent. Nice vibe, great cuts, spritzes cost 6.5 euros (as they should), the only drawback is that people like it so you might struggle to get a table or you might need to wait on a queue to order. Well done.

We ordered the gourmet board for 2 people and it came with a great variety of meats, cheese, spreads, vegetables, and bread. They also recommended Lambrusco which was also a very nice pairing. The atmosphere was fun and low key for hanging out and socializing. They also were playing great music! Would definitely recommend!

Sadly they forget to give us the cheese…we choose the Gourmet Chopping Board and order 2. We didn’t realize until we checked our pictures later the night QAQ To be honest the crostini tastes nice, very crunchy and yummy. I’m ok with the meat The wine they’re selling beside the cashier is really good. We all like the refreshing taste. Their Aperol Spritz is also very good, better than any one what we had in Firenze.

10 out of 5!! Delicious sandwiches with prosciutto or mortadella that honestly made my mouth water. The place has a great vibe, really relaxed but full of life. Perfect for a quick stop to refuel with delicious tastes and a beer or wine and keep exploring the beautiful little streets of the city. Totally worth it. Every time I remember the taste I want to go back in Bologna

Awesome place close to the Piazza Maggiore. We stopped in for lunch around 12:30 and only had 2 people on line ahead of us. Cool atmosphere with tables inside and out. I had the 17 and she had the 20 ( see menu). They were both really good. Super fresh bread and ingredients. Cold beer and free water. Highly recommend this place. Check it out!

Very popular spot, but miss peak times and you're in for a treat. I saw a line out the door at 12:30pm but by 13:30, we walked in and got a table right away. Very friendly servers, generous charcuterie platters. Great house wine. Seasonal spreads on freshly baked bread. Go hungry!!!

Such a cozy and lively spot! The charcuterie boards are amazing—loaded with prosciutto, cheeses, and all the good stuff. The vibe is super relaxed, with friendly staff and a local feel that makes you want to stay and snack for hours. Perfect place to grab a glass of wine and share plates with friends. Highly recommend if you’re in Bologna!

Wow…the portion size, the variety, and the taste of this Gourmet Chopping Board was sensational. Tasting Parmaham, Morradella, and Balsamic Vinegar in the Tuscany region was truly special, the flavour combinations were out of this world We wish we ordered for 2 people, as opposed to 3 as it was far too much, we left a fair bit. Overall, the price matches the quality of the dish.
